I'm not sure about the trim on the glove box since I don't have it. To remove the glove box, you can pry the plastic panels on the right side when you have the passenger door opened. You will see some screws you can take out. There is a thread some where regarding fixing the AC cabin filter arm that has details.

Im aware of how to get the box out, but I want to remove the trim piece on the gb door to wrap it to match the interior trim.

The panel on the inside of the lid should have locking tabs. Snap type tabs as I see no other option. Then once removed it could have screws to remove the outside panel from the frame. That's just my assumption.

I do not believe it is possible to remove. Others have asked about adding that piece of trim to a glovebox from MY 06-10 and were told that you have to get the entire glovebox assembly.

Speaking from memory of my old 2012, it was not possible. The clips used were not the banana-style used on the other door/dash panels and did not have access from the backside either.
