I have a quick question. Is it possible to replace my IS250 brakes with IS350 brakes? I know I need the rotors, pads, and calipers but is there anything else I would need? Please help me out as I am not sure what I need. Thank you.

 

Hey Hovik, did you ever change out the brakes to the IS350 version?

 

if doing this, check if the brake lines are the same too. sometimes they can have different lengths between different models.

 

This is something I'm still wondering as well, can anyone confirm if it is a direct swap?

I have the calipers, rotors, pads, and the front splash shields.

Will we also need the brackets from the 350?

 

I have not done it yet because of the price tag but once I have the funds, I'll do it and post it on here for you guys.

 

I already have the calipers, pads, rotors, front splash shields, but the calipers are at a shop getting wrapped right now so I can't confirm if it's going to be a no-hassle bolt-in process yet. Once they're finished wrapping them up I'll be able to at least test fit the front calipers, I'm not worried about the rears fitting.

 

Calipers, pads, rotors, dust covers and a bottle of fresh brake fluid - all that You need. The brake lines will fit, no need to change them. Two friends of mine have done the front conversions, a bolt-on trouble-free process. I'm gonna change both ends, calipers are in the paint shop now, should be installed next week.

 

UPDATE: I upgraded to full front and rear IS350 brakes with cross drilled and slotted rotors. No Problems. Brake lines are in fact the same. The splash shield had to be modified (I had to cut about a square inch off from near the steering). Great Upgrade!

 

Are you running an AWD or RWD? I just finished the swap and tried to install Stoptech slotted rotors in the front, but they weren't fitting right and wouldn't rotate once installed. I went with OEM rotors in the front and Stoptech slotted in the rear everything worked fine.

 

My car is RWD. I am running Stoptech Front and Rear rotors and pads. No issues for me.

 

I know this is an old post but to be clear. Did you guys just order the is350 calipers and had them installed on the is250 brakes? And just got any size rotor that fit your year is250? And brake pads for an is350? I need to replace my rotors soon and was looking to upgrade as well. Thanks for any details you can give me. I drive a 2014 is250 RWD fsport.

 

Is the rotor diameter wider than the is250 model? If so, did you need a new brake bracket so your caliper can sit far enough for the rotor? Thanks

 

You will need Is350 calipers, is350 rotors (awd specific Front rotors if you are awd), and is350 brake pads. Everything is a direct bolt on replacement no special brackets or special brake lines are needed (unless you want to upgrade to stainless lines).

You will however either have to trim/bend your existing IS250 dust shields to accommodate the larger calipers/rotors or replace them with is350 dust shields.

There are a number of threads regarding this swap both in this section and in the 2nd gen IS section (similar parts/process).

Thanks dave. I have read through many threads but i just took my is350 calipers to get powder coated and the guy there mentioned possibly needing a longer brake bracket if my rotors were larger in diameter. Got me thinking. Didnt want to go through all the work just to find out i was missing one piece. Thanks again.
