Kind of on the same topic...

Say like you want to lower your car so it is 26 inches from fender to group. Would springs + shocks be LESS comfortable than coilovers (assuming you adjust the dampening to the fine limit between no rubbing/comfort at that height)? Some people said coils are much more comfortable over springs, but I've only had the first so can't compare

Lower Spring rates are inherently way lower than coilovers. The higher spring rate, the stiffer it gets so the less comfortable. Look, regular spring rates are like 5-7k range while coil is in the 8-16k range. The dampening settings helps the shocks to obsorb more so you may get an illusion that coil is more comfortable. However, dampening setting does NOT change the inherent stiffness of the spring rate itself.

Also, the lower you go, the less comfortable dampening setting you can choose because you have less clearance travel for the shocks to absorb. That is why for extreme lowering, people choose even higher spring rates so that the wheels/tires won't rub against the fender but it will be very stiff.

thanks for all the advice guys, my plan is to close the gap between the tire and fender as close as possible, maybe like an inch or an inch and half. would this be fine? here are some that I'm looking at. please give me your professional and experienced opinions as I'm a noob when it comes to in depth modification of cars.

I think many members on here run on the Megan EZ Street and have good reviews on them. The price is relatively cheaper than other coils so it is a good budget starter one to go with.

It's all up to you, but most people I know go with BC coilovers since you get to choose the spring rates when you order a new set, and are easier to rebuild. I know Megan makes awd coilovers as well as BC. In my opinion BC is worth the extra money due to higher quality. They will run you around $950-1,000 new. Megan's are around $650-799

Yeah, I agree. Save up a bit for the BC racing coils which offers more dampening settings, better build quality and better handling performance.

I have a budget of 15gs to put on my car the way I want. so money is not a big issue to me and 1000 seems cheap to me so ill probably go with bc coils

He awd which KW don't make them for AWD. A lot of member go with BC Racing with swift spring upgrade. You just gonna know what spring rate you want for your wheel setup.
