Unhappy Help.. I destroyed my calipers!

This is a really sad day for me.. I attempted to paint my calipers yesterday with G2 Caliper paint and this is the outcome:

I am planning to strip all the paint off but the paint has hardened and its bonded to the calipers
Can someone please teach me how do i fix it and possibly repaint it?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Its not that bad. Go out and buy yourself some paint thinner.
Soak a piece of a rough material towel and go at it.

I thought i read somewhere that the epoxy from G2 cant be removed by paint thinner? I tried using the brake cleaner that comes with the kit, but it doesn't help

brake cleaner has nothing to do with removing paint, only dust and grime. Give it a try.

I wouldn't consider the calipers destroyed. Even if the paint isn't even or smooth, they still function. Try at it with paint thinner and a wire brush. If that fails, get a powdercoating place to sandblast it clean, then have them powdercoated. Powdercoat is tougher and lasts longer than paint.

I did purchase some paint + epoxy thinner from Lowe's and it worked! It takes a lot of time and patience trying to remove the paint(only 1 caliper done) but the paint strips right to the metal. I'm on budget now, hence I plan to try the VHT / DupliColor caliper paint before taking it to powdercoat.

I just did mine with VHT on Saturday and they turned out very good. I also finished them with high temp engine enamel.

glad u got it working bud, I told you it wasnt a lost case

I did mine with Duplicolor and sealed them with the High temp Clear coat after applying the lexus decal.

I am suprised that you took off the whole caliper, wish I knew how to do that, I did mine while still on the car.

Similar to you, I messed up one my calipers when painting my brakes with the G2 kit - it came off fairly easily with acetone (the main ingredient in paint thinner). My problem is that I put too much paint on. You should apply it in multiple, thin coats and allow an hour or so drying time in between. Make sure you get a quality brush too.
