Default l-tuned spring height

I just put together a set of struts with an old set of l-tuned springs with some KYB-GR2's. I put these struts side by side with a set of stock struts and I noticed that the two sets are pretty much exactly the same height. I am wondering if the L-tuned are going to compress the expected 1 inch after I put them on my car or have I messed something in putting together my struts.

I did put together another set of struts a couple of years ago with L-sportline springs and Bilstein sports and when I compared that setup with the stock struts there was a noticeable difference in height of over 1-inch, so I am surprised to see that the l-tuned springs are not showing any height difference before mounting. I really don't want to find out after mounting the struts that they are not going to give me any drop over stock. The springs are about 5-6 years old so they should be well settled although they have been off the car for a couple of years. I would be surprised if they have uncompressed to stock height.

Has any one else ever noticed this?

Do you have a picture of both setups next to each other?
