Default Flush Set Up wth Stock Wheels

I went through the ultimate reference thread however I'm still looking for some pics. So what I'm going for is a flush set up with Stock 17x8 inch wheels on a GS 400 with little Finger Gap. Right now I have Eibach Springs but I have noticed that since they lower the car the same amount on the front and back there is more finger gap in the front wheel wells. I'm looking toward the Tanabe NF's, DF's or comparable springs so that the car has even finger gap all around. However, I want to maintain a pretty decent ride since I live in Ohio there are still Pot Holes every once in a while, that's why I wasn't sure about the DF's. I was thinking about replacing my Stock Shocks with Bilstein HD's to make things a bit firmer. Also. I was wondering how I should space he car out with 8 inch wide wheels so that it is flush, but I do not want rubbing, and I do not want to have to shave or roll and fenders to prevent rubbing.

With your existing setup, here's what I'd do.

- Front RCA to lower it another inch
- Bilstein shocks to firm it up
- Rear spacer: 30mm Front spacer: 25mm

That'd have ya sittin' pretty

Thank you very much for that post that car looks awesome.

So I'm looking at the Spring now. I see that the NF's for the 400 are 1.2 in front and .8 in the back. My Eibachs have 1.2 in th front and I think there is still too much finger gap. However, I saw that the NF's for the 300 provide a 1.5 inch drop in front and a 1 inch in the back. I know I have a 400, but this sound like a decent drop. Has anyone tried the 300 DF's on a GS 400? If not I'll probably just go with the DF's with 2 inch drop in the front and 1.5 in the back.

^^^^ get the DF210 (part # TDF24B) for your GS400. I think you will be happy with that drop! 2" front and 1.5" rear

I just went through this.

First of all 20mm or anything close to is TOO big up front.

I bought 20mm on here against my better judgement and the front stuck out 10mm outside the fender well.

(this is with 17's on a 98...not sure the width).

Again going by advice, a member on here said he had 30mm and could go 5mm more.. Well i got 35mm in the rear as it seemed to measure about right. This makes it pretty well flush at the top of the fender. Due to the shape though, it's nearly 3/4" out midway down.

Anyways, I switched and put my 20mm on the rear and nothing on the front and called it good.

Ideally i think the best overall would be...
10mm front and 30mm rear (30 if you want it quite close).

but just as good is probably 25mm rear and leave the front with no hassle.

Just my 2 cents.

Mark

Thanks for all the input guys, and thanks for the link AMSMIKE. I would buy them now but I'm about to spend a lot of money on a Timing Belt Replacement. Since I'm in college I'm on a budget so I'll wait for Summer to grab some new Springs and then put my 17s on.
