Cool Brakes

My brakes are working great, but i have rust on some areas and i was told there is a spray i can get to remove the rust and dirt deposites on the brakes, i was wondering are those sprays safe and do they work?

some people paint it, or use rotors with zinc coatings that are supposed to prevent the rust... I never bothered to do either but you can probably sand, clean, prime and paint with high temp paint or caliper paint.
