Cool GS430 Brakes Saved Me by a Short Hair!

It was about 8:15 AM on Saturday and some idiot comes at me from a side street and barely misses me as I am coming to the Guard Gate Automatic Arm. I look through my rear view mirror at him for just a second. When I look forward I see the arm of the Guard Gate like 5 feet in front of me! Do an emergency stop and the arm of the Guard Gate gives me a glancing blow. It hit the windshield and part of the molding as it was going up. Was able to easily buff the white paint off my windshield and the molding. As I said it was by a short hair.

I was a little distracted at the time because the other driver was coming at me at about 50 miles an hour! Just looked back for a second to see if he was going to hit me! Maybe he did it intentionally so I would hit the Gate Arm. They have been replacing that Gate Arm about once a week!

The car did not look damaged and I had to get to my girlfriends house to take her to the doctor. So I just let it go.

That arm doesn't have some type of safety feature like a sensor to prevent it from going down when there is a car still in its path?Sometimes they have one and its embeded into the pavement to prevent that from happening.
