LS400 brakes
PROS
2 pot calipers
lightweight aluminum calipers
less expensive setup
requires 16" or larger wheel
CONS
requires RCA or shaving/rolling of fenders and tie rod ends
smaller rotors
not many aftermarket brake pads available
Is this right? Kind of sucks because it looks like a draw...pros and cons of each. In any event EITHER ONE is MUCH better than stock!

- Rolling of fenders and tie rod ends?????
- None of that was required when I did mines.
- smaller rotors???
- smaller than the supra rotors..YES..but it wasn't a deal breaker....but close to 1" diameter bigger that stock GS rotors.
- Not many aftermarket brake pads available???
- I had 3 pads to choose from....1 OEM...and 2 aftermaket pads.

wth were you smoking? supra brakes (the tt's) are 4 pistons/pots fronts.
^oops; sorry about that - I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote this. As you can tell I am not to knowledgable when it comes to brake setups - I am still learning. I was hoping by provding an easy to read list that people could clarify for me as well as others. I havn't seen a list like this on the forums.

Also, 2 choices in aftermarket pads IMHO doesn't quite shout many aftermarket pad choices. Having 2 choices available is VERY limited aftermarket support.
Here was my old 400 with the TT brakes and G35 wheels.

The G35 18" wheels fit perfectly, found mine on Craigslist for $300 with almost brand new tires too. The only thing I recommend is to install hub rings. Infiniti wheels have smaller centerbore, I believe 60.1 and 66.06 for Lexus.

Well...I got bought the 2 other pads...didn't think you could draw conclusion that there's only 2 aftermarket pads available. There are more out there...that I know.
these the same specs for the hubrings for the 19" g35's?
I think this is in line with the thread so....
I am in the middle of installing my Supra parts onto my GS400. Indeed it has been plug and play with the exception of the aforementioned bending of the dust-shield.
I recall reading an older thread on the topic where a couple people were leaking brake fluid after the upgrade. Incidentally, I have this problem too after finishing up the drivers side. (pass. side still to do)
HERE'S MY QUESTION: Is this a known issue? My setup came with Goodridge braided lines. Not sure if that is the culprit.
Of course, I can put the rubber ones back on but wth, these braided should work.
The leak is at the fenderwell side, not at the caliper. It seemed to line up right, threaded in well, and is tight. Appreciate any feedback on this.
Thanks,
BA
