Just how much is a 1" drop?
Ok so I bought an Eibach/Bilstein setup for my GS400 but now I'm thinking to maybe go with the HR springs for that extra bit of drop. I haven't installed yet and I'm worried 1" won't be a big difference or not quite enough for me. I'm going for the performance gain but also the look is a big part.
Anyone have before/after with a 1" drop either L-tuned or Eibach?
How much harder would you say the HR's are than the Eibach or should I just sell the whole thing and get Bilstein coilovers?
I don't want a harsh ride or more than say 1.5" drop. Places where I drive (including my driveway) would not be kind to more than 1.5".
Any thoughts?

i don't think 1" or 1.5" will make a big performance or harshness difference. i lowered mine on the H&R's and unless you get 20s or 19's, it won't look like much. of course, a bodykit also changes all that. everyone here will tell you to get coilovers for performance, unless you're like me and can't afford it. coilovers are always best but kinda stiff. good luck with your decision
and please, no one tell me that i have a lexus and shouldn't skimp. that gets old

SpectraGS, have no pix, but the 1.25" drop with L-Tuned subjectively looks like more, so much so that both the service guys at my dealership (believe it or not, I'm the first install they've done on a GS here) and I actually measured. I don't scrape anywhere, but I don't have any body kit, either. Other than slight increase in impact harshness over sharp, small bumps, there's been no change in ride comfort.

JAC, haven't checked, as far as finger widths. As far as drop, this was measured from the center of the arc of the wheel well to the ground. 1.25" front and rear, compared to stock measurements.
