at first when i first starting modding my suspension, i was regret that i got the AWD because the part is more expensive and less choice =P
and right now, i gave it up and got the EVO, much more fun to drive and much more to do with the car =)

I had the exact same problems on my 06 GS300 AWD. I just had a shop replace both inner boots because the problem were the clamps and the only way to get them was to buy the kit. I bought the boot kits on mylexparts.com and paid the shop $75.
Now no more leaking(3,000 miles), but still have the damn vibrations at idle and wobbling during initial acceleration. I hate driving the car...just enjoy looking at in the garage.

Bump this from the dead
Dealership just inspected my car and have inner boots leaking
I was browsing at Sewell and i saw that u could buy just the clamps itself..
I was wondering if I should just buy the clamps or buy the whole inner boot kit?...

I had my '08 IS250 AWD car lowered on BC coils approx 1 month/600 miles ago. Jacked it up last week to adjust ride height and noticed CV grease on and around the front passenger inner CV boot. Just took it into the dealer (it should be covered under warranty) and watched them inspect all my boots. The Tech said he didn't see any sign of cracks/tears (confirming Crisitian0's post below)', but did see the grease on both front passenger AND driver inner boots. Said because there's no crack/tear, doesn't make sense to replace the boots; instead, he wiped everything clean and said they'd monitor for more leaking and then, if still a leak but no CV boot damage, they'd just replace the clamps.
On the one hand, I'm satisfied it's noted on record that the issue exists, on the other, I'd be interested in opinions on this approach. I obviously don't want to damage the actual CV joint and I don't actually know what signs to look for to anticipate the problem before it's too late. I don't have a jack myself (yet) so don't often have the opportunity to inspect regularly.
Thoughts?

Ok guys me and a friend replaced my inner CV boots. From seeing the boots it has nothing to do with the car being lowered. The rubber part of the interior of the boot close to the inner clamp it has like rubber teeth looking things (you can only see if when the boot is off the axle). Well they wear out after time so the out comes it starts leaking where the inner clamp is (the bigger clamp). It seems to be normal and a wear and tear thing mine only lasted to 48,000 miles so around that time you guys should be checking up on them.

I've been lowered at 24.5 all around. Installed coil overs at 26k currently have 38 and very little leaks on the outside boot facing the brakes. I Mean very little as in pints. I check all the boots everytime I change the oil at 3k
