No problem...spring time is soon. You should start by re-building the calipers (if not done already)...then paint them in a few weeks.

Good luck.

way old revival but why not.

can anyone give a definitive answer on how much spacing is needed on the rca to clear the caliper with no grinding? i have the figs kit on at 17mm, will this be enough to not need to grind? hoping to find out asap so i can get prepped for paint.

thanks guys.

Probably 17mm based on this guide from FIGs:

thanks for that info. it still adds a bit of confusion, probably due to the is300 focus of it. they are talking about additional inserts for the calipers for the IS and JZX chassis, i havent seen or heard of anyone with a 2GS needing/using these. im assuming the caliper bolts on the IS are smaller, hence the need for an insert to allow that to work? As far as vertical clearance goes it does look like 17mm will work. Lets hope so, ill be kinda bummed to knock some fresh paint off my calipers for clearance at the last minute.

If you have questions you should call Matt at FIGs. Hes a super helpful guy and if he knows he will definitely answer your question

Figs 17mm will work, as I have them installed on my GS and just completed the upgrade. Super close, but work perfect.

very straight forward install, and yes the 17mm figs rca is just what you need to clear without any issues, only extra is the trimming of the dust shield. and lucky me my wheels cleared without the need for a spacer.

The LS400 rotors are 12.50” in diameter vs. the 12.75” diameter of the TT brake setup

Hey man, what's the offset of your wheels?

Or better yet the offset that's required to clear the brakes.

Its not so much about offset as it is spoke design of the wheels. Read this thread
