So you want to get a BBK because of too much dust?? Just to let you know, Lexus offers low dust brakepads to customers who complain about excessive brake dust, it offered as a free TSIB at the dealership.

If have an IS250, you can always swap them out for the IS350 rotors and calipers, that would probably be the cheapest option if your looking for something beefier to fill in your wheels.

I'd think twice about using an unknown (or little known) BBK company. If your really considering the D2 BBK, I'd suggest ponying up the extra $1k or so and go for a well known company such as Brembo or Stoptech (same as F-Sports).

Depends on what setup you prefer and what your purpose of the big upgrade would be. If you are trying to improve braking, you can change to slotted rotors, low-dust aftermarket pads, and braided brake lines would give you better braking for daily driving. This is probably the most economical way of improving your car's braking. You may also want to upgrade to sticky tires if you have not done so already. Upgrading the stock brake setup and and tires will significantly enhance the braking on your IS.

If you like to look of BBKs and have or will plan on having aftermarket wheels to show off the calipers, then definately BBKs. They have a bling factor and are also good to have if you track your car. Yet BBKs usually cost much more than a typical rotors/pads upgrade.

Good luck with your choice. I am sure other members will chime in and share their experiences with brake upgrades

thanks guy. Not sure if i can get the is350 brake upgrade. the only available model here is called IS300 which is significant with ISx50..as for IS300 there, here called IS200. So i dont think I can get my brakes upgraded for free. Thats why I want to get aftermarket BBKs, cheapest option, just for daily driving also to get rid of the brake dust. Showing off the BBKs and having better braking will be a plus from my research D2 offers the cheapest aftermarket BBK..just need to know if its worth it hehe

Except that for daily driving none of those things would actually improve the braking of the vehicle at all.

They'd probably change the -feel- of the brakes, but they wouldn't stop the car even an inch shorter.

THAT on the other hand -will- improve stopping distance.

Because the brakes don't stop the car, the tires do.

To the original poster- I'm not sure what physical brakes the 2nd gen IS300 has on it... but I'd kinda surprised if they weren't the same as used on either the 250 or 350.

If that's the case then you can just buy a set of the OEM low-dust TSIB pads and put those on. It'll be MASSIVELY cheaper than upgrading your entire brake system and get rid of the dust.

thanks for the advise Kurtz. my brakes are similar with the is250's so the brake discs are small and there's no covers for the calipers..and it wont look nice with big wheels such as 19s..i think u know how it'll look like hehe i'll try to get the OEM low dust pads for the meantime and maybe brake caliper covers to upgrade to looks. Maybe it will look nicer than i imagine..never know til i give it a try hehe
