Default New member, needs your modification tips

Hey guys this is my first post on this board,
My cousin, after seeing modifications done to my 540i,
now decided to also modify his car.
He has a '01 GS430
with complete L-sportsline body kit and exhaust.
I love how his car looks and accelerates, definitely a beauty. However he wants better handling.
he's thinking of getting L-tuned suspension so he not void his warranty,
can anyone help him or give him advice on where to go to?
I heard Johnnymo knows people at Lexus Manhattan?
Any other advice?
He is thinking of getting sways as well.
I heard the TRD's are pretty good.
He would love to meet with any of you tri-state owners for advice.

thanks in advance..
too bad his company doesn't allow him to have internet access...he's definitely missing out

First, welcome to CL for your cousin. Second, I'll answser those Q's for your cousin.

L-tuned suspension will improve the handling, but you can step up to Bilstein/H&R or even Tein coilovers. I do not think the suspension uograde will void any king od warranty, IMO.

And you also need to step up the wheel/tires comb. to better improve handling. 18" is perferct for performance but 19/20 will definitely enhance the beauty of GS. and yeh, TRD sway and STB are also a must plus l-tune steering ECU. You'll be all set on the suspension upgrde

thanks for the welcome jacob.. =)
i think he needs contact information
unless he can go to any performance shops to order the TRD sways..that should be ok too.

My cousin is such a lazy ***...sometimes i think i care more about his car than he does :P

so anyone here in the tri state area?

You can order all different parts from Steve Ganz @ Carson Toyota. He's also a member on CL, you can try PM him(SUPRATRD) or call 1-800-908-6968 x2381.

We have a lot of members in tri-state area and Johnny Mo is there and he's also a moderator too.

Johnny, take it over from here

Definitely order Sway bar from Steve. He is the man..

Note: sway bar takes long time to order...

TRD Front STB and Toms Rear STB is something to consider also.

What is STB? is that the struct bar?
if so, i heard that there is no room for struct bars for the GS430

you have to remove engine cover in order to put on STB for 430.

Default L-Tuned suspension

young-nyc,

I have an L-Tuned suspension on my GS and have to say it was one of the best mods I did. Lexus of Manhattan did the work for me, as well as getting me the parts they can get all of the L-Tuned parts you need as well as any TRD parts.

If you have some time you can look through the picture gallery (GS), I have both before and after pics of my GS there. the photo #'s are 820-822 and 1078 & 1079, I am missing one of the after pics from the conversion to the new gallery, but I'll try and repost it. PM me if you want a contact at L of M.

I have a GS400 and it was rubbing my engine cover.. SO I took it off. Its just a cover.. no big deal.

L-Tuned is nice... Bilstein Sport/Eibach is good... Now Tein Ha coilover.. the best..

I know this cause I used to have the Bilstein/Eibach combo..

If he is worry about Shock and spring will void the warrenty.. stay clear of ECU. Definitely void...

Although Tom's has an ECU.. from all the post that I read, they are for original Japanese Aristo. Not really for GS and no one on the board has them either.

Weapon-R.. I think there is one member that has them. They just finish R&D.... maybe u want to be the genie pig?

hahahahaha

Performance upgrade? Try SS Line, that will increase brake feeling.... really worth the money.

I think that there is a unofficial meeting in March 30 in CT for CL NE member.. check under the Club Meeting.
