Default suspension ???s

ok so out where i live the roads suck...the driveways are terrible and being that my gs is 11 years old....damn 11 years haha. well the ride isn't what it should be. so i'm looking for maybe a 1-1.5 inch drop....just to make it look like i'm not 4 wheeling anymore, so i'm curious to see what all i need?? springs? coilovers? new suspension?? i'm pretty new at this stuff...so any help is appreciated. thanks

In your case I would just go with springs and shocks and possibly RCA's up front.

Coilovers will let you adjust the suspension up and down if you think that you will want to change the height of your car in the future. Springs and shock combo's are fixed at whatever height drop the springs are.

For coilovers on rough roads I would recommend Tein CS version 2's, they run about $1500 shipped.

Springs and shocks I would recommend Tanabe NF210's (about a 1.25" drop with stock like ride) and shocks of your choice, Bilsteins etc.... Overall the complete setup should run you about $600. This setup is alot cheaper but isn't adjustable so if you ever want to go lower you would have to buy a new suspension setup, coilovers you could just adjust as you wanted.

yea im thinking the NF's and some shocks. as for going lower than that...like i said the roads here are pretty damn unforgiving. almost as bad as they were in NJ, if not worse. and i think biggest rim i'm going to go is 19"

Lowering springs are nice, but they can sag over time and then you are stuck with whatever ride height they settle too.

BC Racing makes a good coilover and they ride pretty comfortable with rubber upper mounts. They have the same quality as Tein for less money, and ride nicer IMO. It will give you full height adjustability and damping settings as well.
