Default Second opinion please

So I bought a set of F-Sport springs for my IS250 AWD. I personally am capable of doing the install myself but I was quoted by my local lexus dealership of $420 for installation plus alignment. Which I think is a pretty darn good deal compared to what other members have been quoted. What do you guys think? I can do install myself but i'd have to pay my friend for shop time, since my car would be on the lift. I could easily sit at work and make that money... Idk... I'm really indecisive when it comes to stuff like this.

I totally agree but... 1 yr warranty vs. 4 yr warranty on suspension... hmmmm thats why i'm kind of leaning towards the dealership.

DIY gets my vote... alot of people have changed their suspension already... and none had problems so you dropping your car with a conservative drop definitely won't have any problems... as long as you take the time out and do it right....

yes it would void your suspension warranty for the most part but... 425 bucks.... you could get another mod for that money

I wouldn't be too concerned about the suspension warranty becoming void if you have springs installed somewhere other than thedealer. Suspension failures are extremely rare, even if you race your IS on the track (but then your warranty would be void anyway).

True but I definitely will not be taking my IS250 AWD to the track since it is wayyyyyyy too slow. I have done a cost benefit analysis and basically I think i'll probably just end up letting the dealer do it just because it'll end up costing me around $200 for me to do it myself. Since I'll have to pay my friend for shop time and i'll have to get the vehicle aligned as well.... that and i'll have to call into work to get the day off... ahhh... just a hassel. So the way I look at it is, i'm basically paying an extra $200 to keep suspension warranty and if anything happens down the line, I have someone to stand behind the work whereas if i was to do it myself.

I do agree that the feeling of doing your own work is great and something to be proud of. Suspension work isn't a huge deal to me, I did a few swaps and turboed my previously owned vehicle and that was definitely a good feeling but theres something about my lexus... i'm just not so enthusiastic about doing work on it.

I second that. IMO i think its worth it since u will get alignment and if u can't wait just borrow a loaner and go back to work. I wish i had a deal like that but unfortunately most lexus dealership dont offer that price, if they do its rare.
