Default Pic request: LS caliper

I tried searching but either I suck at searching or it doesn't exist.

I know some of you guys are running LS calipers. I'm about to get mine and I'm going just shave the bolt (no i won't get the RCA block for now). I've also heard that some had to shave the caliper itself and I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of their shaved calipers.

Thanks in advance.

did you go with the RCA or shave the bolt?

If anyone just shaved the bolt and successfully installed UCF20 LS400 calipers, please let me know how much you had to cut. I've heard you can shave down to the cotter pin and its fine. but then I'm starting to read that you have to shave the caliper a little bit...

I use RCA. My decision was based on the fact that the l-tuned springs lowered the same amount all around. Stock for stock, our front wheel gap is larger than our rear. Naturally, I went with RCA to even things out.

I dont remember exactly, but you may be able to get around without having to shave the calipers. It's a pretty tight fitso you'll need to check it out.

I guess if push comes to shove, I'll put in some washers above the lower ball joint to get some clearance. I really dont want to spend couple hundred dollars on a metal block...

I'll probably be tackling this sometime next week...so any info is more than welcome!

Coco-bun,

Did you shave the bolt? I'm gonna review your pm, maybe you mentioned it.

GSteg: how does it look with your setup and how is the performance witht he front leaning down more than spec (you mentioned you installed RCA for the front only). Also, did you reset the center thingamajig? U know, the zero-ing the new center yaw control.

Cocobun went with the Supra brakes which requires no shaving or RCAs.

Performance is practically the same for me since I drive around town like any other person. I haven't taken my car to the track yet so I can't tell with the new brake setup. It looks good, but I made a mistake of buying meatier tires for the front to fill in the wheel gap that I previously had with just springs. Had I gone back to OEM size tires, the gap would be even all around. I love the look of my car. Much better than stock, however I need to get spacers in the rear

I did not reset the yaw control. Heck I havent looked into it because I dont drive as hard. I figured the yaw control would detect the steering angle, slip angle, deceleration and all that with or without the RCA. It detects the car's physics at whatever motion it is in.

Yep, I wished I had shorter (width) tires up front and meatier in back. There's atleast an inch more upfront so I will use RCA block for that, and use LS Brakes.

So no worries on yaw.

Thanks.
