This is a message I received from Gerry Mendoza:

I wanted to see if you could post a question for me in your GS300 suspension
forum. I am not able to log on. My question is as follows:

"I own a 1998 Lexus GS300. I have wheels and tires that I am going to be
installing shortly (18s, 245/40 18 all around). I want to change the
suspension but I don't want to alter the car too much...maybe dropping it
about 1". I have talked to several Lexus dealers and they have obviously
told me to go with the L-Tune set-up. Do I really need to do this set-up?
They are quoting me about $700 just for labor!!! That is crazy!!! Where
can
I find reputable specialists in the Los Angeles area? What does the Steering
ECU actually do? Should I just go with Eibach? Any advice would really help.
I want my car to look good and perform well but I do not want to spend that
much cash!!! I also don't want to alter the car's performance too much.
I am
going for the look more than anything. Thanks in advance!"

Thank you so much!

best solution....

Get L-Tuned stuff from Steve and install it somewhere else. The installation cost is too outrageous. Find a reputable shop to do it.

Lightbulb tmengineering.net

for l-tuned parts, pickthem up at steve's carson toyota.

thenmake an appointment with todd at:

tmengineering.net for installation. leave a message and tell him you are a CL member, his price is fair and very reputable, quite a few members like his service. todd's shop is also in the carson area.

you could go with eibach springs(todd also has the best price). but then you would also need either shocks from Steve(l-tuned), or you could go for bilsteins-one of the best in the world.

if you want to get bilsteins sport shocks, i can get a set of four to your door for $425.

I got my L-tuned suspension from steve at carson for $500 even which is an amazing price and I had it installed for $160 from a shop here in washington so all in all it cost me less to buy the suspension and get it installed than what they are quoting you for just labor just some advice whenever you get aftermarket products dont let the dealer install it for you they will charge you triple what other shops regularly charge

Does the 500 bucks include tax? I paid 513 including tax not from Steve. Don't think I can get that price anymore though.
