Didn't you just pick up a set of Bilsteins? I don't actually have any experience with either but I take it the KYB GR2's would be more comparable to the Bilstein HD's than the Sports or somewhere in between.

In order, here is the ranking of sport vs. stock comparison

1. Bilstein SP
2. KYB
3. Bilstein HD (mostly used for vehicles that tow or light duty truck/SUV)
4. stock

here's my 2 cents:
kyb/espelir: very soft oem type ride
*bilstein hd/espelir: pretty firm ride, very little bounce

*keep in mind, these springs have a very comparable spring rate to oem

That doesn't make sense. In your first comparison you paired a shock/spring, in your second comparison you paired a shock/shock.

i have personally tested out bilstein HD and kyb on stock springs and can say that the bilstein HD is stiffer than the KYB. the KYB's are pretty much stock replacements. they look almost identical just that they have silver paint.

Yup. KYBs are definitely softer than the Bilstein. Then again, KYBs are probably the softest aftermarket shocks you can get for the GS

I couldn't find much of a difference between the Bilstein HD and the KYB. The Bilstein SP was a much tighter ride and MUCH more fun!!

The HD felt firm but nowhere near performance. The KYB's I rode on were almost two years old but I "think" I could tell the difference from the HD's.
