I have an IS 350 and the break dust is way to much. i have to clean the wheels every 3 days. i was wondering if anyone switch to ceramic pads and is there any noticeable differences. what are the drawbacks?

There is a TSIB for the IS350 for brake pad dust. Upon complaint, dealer will install low dust pads on the front wheels (which are actually the stock pads from the GS450h hybrid). The new pads are less aggressive (people on the forum describe it as less initial bite), but stop the vehicle well, and appear to solve the excessive dust problem.
I called the dealer yesterday and was told the pads are a special order item and he will call to schedule an appt when they come in.
Also said the pads are under warranty if the present pads not worn to a certain degree.
I was told at 20K miles,I should be ok.
I better be.
Most of those miles are highway.
Don't let him BS you, if I recall correctly from the other thread, the only constraint on the brakes TSIB is the number of miles you put on (right?) and not the life left in the pads
I have some Satisfied ceramics'. They were the only ones I could find. I wanted to try them because I had some Hawks on my old car and really liked them and was hoping for the same. They stop well ,have really low dust output but if I was to do it again I'd try the factory low dust pad's instead.

??? Ummm. No. I had 21k miles on mine when I had them done. I also had over 80% of my pads left. Maximum highway use, very little city use at all. And I don't use my brakes on the freeway unless it's jammed with cars. If you're wearing out brakes while highway driving you need to stop using both feet in your automatic.
