Suspension & overloading ..stupid Question
Hi,
the thing is i overloaded the car a couple of times before , and when i look to car from the side at the rear it looks kinda lower than other IS's i see around.
the gap between the tire and the fender looks smaller. so is it possible that something was blown or damaged(Shocks?springs?) and the car became lower than before? or overloading will never affect the ride height after i unload the car?
and i've been looking for the official "rear ride height" so i can measure mine and compare but had no luck.so if anyone has it for the 17" wheel post it.

How did you overload it? If you just packed it full of people, that wouldn't hurt it unless you drove really fast over big bumps. Even then, it wouldn't necessarily damage the shocks, and definitely not the springs or sway bars. If you are really concerned about it, get the alignment checked. Most places will check the alignment for free. Honestly, it sounds to me like your parking spot isn't perfectly flat and / or level.
yeah i packed it with friends, and was going around 60 MPH,and no big bumps.
it will be the first thing i tell the dealer about next service, but i want to have a little background about this.
i searched everywhere to get the rear ride height measurments but no luck at all,and didn't find a pdf for the FSM.
it would be great if someone will hook me up with the rear ride height of the 17".
the last thing i wanna do is to go to the showroom with a ruler and atart measuring

and i checked the overall height in our lexus site and your's,it's the same.so hopefully the rest will be based on the overall.

Hi ACMilan, you didn't overload it. i have the IS300 as well and it looks exactly as you described, the clearance at the rear doesn't look normal at all -and so is my neighbor’s IS300 and i am sure that i did not overload my car.

you know what i'l probably send you a pic from the side as soon as i come back to the country.
actually i am in the process of buying new 19"s and i am confused about the gap, i know that the 250's prokit looks better and gives a more even drop, but the 350's looks safer due to this small gap at the rear.
