Sqeaky Brakes? Please Help!
I replaced all rotors and brakepads with new cross drilleds and EBC red stuff ceramic brake pads. Now all I hear is that annoying screech everytime I stop. Its been goin on now for like 3 months?! I thoght the pads needed broken in but I guess I was wrong. What do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance
i personally recommend hawk pads i had ebc greens and after a few monts took trhem out andreplacedwith hawks on my older car and thats all ive ever used since... im on my 4th set now...
all ceramics are typically silent and squeek free.
You probably have to redo your brake job. The Anti rattle clips and Shims have to be adjusted. This is most likely the culprit.
1. Clean everything off with brake cleaner.
2. Use nice gobs of PERMATEX anti squeal (the Blue Stuff) on the brake pad shims, so that there is no metal on metal vibrations.
3. Brake grease the heck out of the Slide Pins so that they slide smoothly when depressed.
4. Make sure the Anti Rattle Clips (they look like paperclips) have stong tension on the pads.
you will be silent again.
