turn or replace warped rotors
OE replacement rotors (slotted by rotora/brembo) run about 180-220 for all 4 wheels, turning rotors cost about 80 dollars. which one should i go with? is there really a significant improvement over stock with these slotted rotors? or they're just for the looks.
my mech also say the rotors are turnable, and should last at least another 60k miles.

my rotors were warped when I bought car at 21k miles. dealer turned them and they lasted 3 years-17k miles but now they pulsate slightly again.
I'm getting new Brembo plain rotors for $40 a piece from tirerack and having the rears turned.
I was going to buy new rear brembos too but I learned that they will rub and cause a grinding noise on the rear unless something is ground down.

I have heard that the slotted are usually only good to use for track or heavy braking for heat distribution . Not to say they don't look GREAT on the car! I would turn them unless you want to race or the look.

I replaced rotors once on my RX300 a few years ago, but otherwise have been getting them turned. Reason was that on the fronts there were visible burn marks that machining wasn't going to do a thing...rotors would have been much thinner.

If the rotors have been turned before, they likely will warp more quickly the next time. After turning them a few times, it may be cheaper to buy new ones. Verify the run out on any new ones before installing them. Even new out of the box new rotors are sometimes not true.
