Default Slotted Rotors: Where do I get them resurfaced/turned?

I bought a set of Rotora slotted rotors used in the classifieds. I called up a few brake shops today and all of them told me that they could not or would not(damage to equiptment?) turn slotted rotors. One of the brake shops was kind enough to tell me that I should take the rotors to a machine shop.

I'm going to do that tomorrow, but what exactly do I need to tell them to do? Or do they usually know what to do when you ask to have rotors resurfaced? I know their lathe is obviously more precise than a brake shops....so I guess thats a good thing. I might ask my friend which his dad owns a machine shop to see if he can do this for me(for cheap/free ). Only problem is that the shop is 1 hour from my house so I won't be able to drive out there till the weekend

Just wondering though. Is it ok if I drive around on these rotors for a few days or so? The previous owner said they were warped.

Yea, you're going to have to take them to a machine shop.. they may or may not be able to do it for you. They will use the flywheel machine to resurface your rotors.. ive never personally done it, but ive heard ot it being done.. good luck..

You can check with some dearlership that have high end vehicles, Chevy dealers that sells vettes or Dodge dealers that sell the SRT. Porsche dealers to they have to resurface slotted rotors for their cars. Friend of mine had a SRT with slotted rotors that he took to the dealer to be resurfaced. GOod Luck on your search.

Ok, I didn't get them resurfaced because I couldn't wait to install the brakes. Good news....they're not warped. I jammed it about 2 times down from 100-5mph tonight. Then a few 60-5 and then drove around to let it cool down. Seems like the supra brakes are holding up very nicely! No more fading on high speed stops now

Heh, thanks. They're not warped so thats a good sign. I just cant seem to find someone that knows which way the rotor should face for sure.
