Springs/Shocks for 20s to fit budget. Any suggestions?
I recently purchased a used 2000 GS300, thinking all I had to do was buy 20s and I'd be good. Then I started reading this forum and hearing that without lowering it, it'll look horrible. Now I need to shell out more for the springs and shocks, but have no idea which ones to get.
What I was looking to do was drop it so it doesn't look too low. I'd like my clients (age 50+) to be able to see it and not think I'm some sort of gangster... so a classy/conservative drop.
Does anyone have any suggestions on which springs/shock combination to buy that would be able to fit into a tight budget?
Thanks for your help. This forum has been great!

You will get different responses here. I have the L-tuned shocks and springs, it's close to stock with a 1.0-1.25 inch drop. The key word was budget, I purchased my set of shocks and springs for under $400.00.

Hi CXP. Thanks for the response. What is the specific model number for both the shock and springs. I don't want to look like a retard when I go to the motor sport shop. And do you have any suggestions on where to buy it? Thx.

I don't think you'll find these at a motor sport store. Try a search on on L-tuned shocks on the forum. Contact Steve at Carson Toyota to see if they are still available. http://www.l-tunedparts.com. The website will have the part number the GS3/4 suspension area.

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to find the L-Tuned S/S new, being that they've been discontinued for a while now. I was lucky however to find someone locally with S/S who wanted to change over to a more aggressive drop. I bought them in fear that I wouldn't be able to find them again. I am currently researching on other drops, and may put these up for sale. I have a set of 19's with a 245/35s and 275/30s in the rear, and doing some preliminary measurements i would be able to fit 2 fingers up front and about a 1finger out back. So, depending on your tire choice on your 20s these may work out great for you.
