Squeck from TEIN CS?
Hi fellas,
Quick question for the TEIN users.
I've had my CS installed over six months now and there seems to be a slight squecking sound coming from the struts. Probably the rod during suspension travel. Is this a normal sound that you guys have encountered? What can i do to get rid of it?
i was thinking of using sewing machine oil ( i own an upholstery shop), didn't think wd40 or lithium grease would be a good idea.
Please chime in with you suggestions.
Thanks Y'all

question, did you replace your sway bars? I know it may sound odd, but I had a squeak that occurred every time my suspension compressed. So I obviously thought it was my coilovers as well, but when I looked under the car I noticed that the sway bar was missing some grease. (I'm guessing it came off when I went through a big puddle of water during a rain storm) Long story short, I greased the sway bar and the noise went away.

no i haven't replaced the swaybars. I am 99.5% sure its the coilovers. sound can also be heard from the rear suspension as well.

thats the nature of coilovers, they squeak, rattle, clank...part of the metal to metal construction..my suggestion is white lithium grease added sparingly a few times a week for like two weeks
should help, and then periodically add it as you go

Thanks for the advise.
My only concern with the lithium grease is that its a compound that picks up and retains dust and dirt. i'm thinking something like sewing machine oil since it isn't as dense as the lithium but also repells water.

Here's what i got from Todd @ TMEngineering....
Could be the upper mount, a quick test is to spray WD40 on it to see if it goes away.
Cold temperatures seem to cause this on the CS also.
Let me know if you need more input.
Thanks
