Default DIY Changing Brake Pad Tutorial

Anyone have a tutorial on how to swap the brake pads on a 98+ GS?

I checked out Banana's site but he had Supra brake calipers and he took the whole thing apart. Does one have to take apart the entire caliper to change the brake pad??

Obviously the steps would go something like this... but I would LOVE to have pictures... Someone's gotta have pictures out there that can help us all save some dough while having a little fun in swapping out our brake pads. Again, I like the banana site but, much to his credit, he has aftermarket brakes and I just have the stock setup.

1) loosen bolts
2) engage parking brake
3) jack up car
4) remove wheel entirely
5) uhhhh- unclip some clips or something?
6) pull out brake pads (do i have to do anything with the vsc/abs sensor here?)
7) push pistons back into caliper
8) drop in new pads ( again- anything to do with the vsc/abs sensor here?)

Hey dude, try my web site :

http://www.lexusvertex.com/aristov300_brakepad.htm

Photos + pics from the Lex service manual.

Just remember that the bolt that holds the caliper can be anti-clockwise or clockwise, it's pretty stiff as well. I wear mechanics gloves to avoid cuts etc.

Remember to chock the wheels, use axle stands, pump the brake after each pad install etc.

oh and if you want to take the rotor off you will 17mm socket for the 2 bolts holding

the bracket on then just take off the rotor

these brakes are real easy to do

JCManuals1 is the vendor. GS manuals show up once a month or so.
