Default under the hood

Under the hood, where the shocks are mounted, there is a bolt. It is covered by a plastic boot. Anyway, a buddy was telling me he lowered his car by adjusting this? I'm not gonna do this, but does anyone know if this is possible?

Nope. You can't lower the car by going under the hood...only adjustments under the hood would be for dampening adjustments if you had Tein coilovers for example...otherwise you need either:

A) new shorter springs (Which is fixed height, no adjustments)
B) new suspension (like air, etc...which would allow you to adjust from inside the car)
C) new coilovers (which ARE adjustable, but not height adjustable from under the hood or inside the car)

With any of these (Except for the air shocks) you would still need to go under the car and adjust each coilover individually.

So...what else did your buddy tell you
