Default need help suspension question.

i gotta gs300 dropped on espelir springs with stock shocks rolling on 20's zauber gettins. My tires get swirl marks on them, do you guys think its because the stock shocks can't handle the weight because my car seems to bounce moderately. And if i get new shocks will it help the swirls go away? thanks for any input

Swirls? Got any pics?

As a rule of thumb, always swap out stock shocks when going with lowered springs.

i think he means his tires are cupping or scalloping which is a direct effect on dampers/shocks not doing their job

Default Damper

Normally when you lower a car you should have the appropriate damper that will control the spring rate.

Get a set of the best shocks you can afford (recommend Bilsteins) and get a good alignment done if you haven't already.
Not only the shorter, higher spring rate (not sure how much higher with Espelir) but the heavier wheels and tires (unsprung weight) require a shock with much more damping capability than stock ones, especially if they're worn.

their are really only 2 choices avail for the 2 gen gs. either ltuned (rebadged kyb junk ,imo) or bilstein sports (the heavy duty is not designed to work with shorter springs). the bilstein sports are very capable performing dampers . i have then and have had ltuned before.make no mistake , the bilsteins are much firmer then stock and will eliminate imo 80% of stock like ride comfort , but despite being much firmer (notice i did not use the term stiff) they damper more of the road irreg therefore giving a more controlled comfortable ride

if these 2 choices dont fit the bill and the wallet permits , go the coilover route
