Default Need help with wheel fender gap spacing

Hey Guys,

I'm about to get an alignment so i'm checking my suspension and wanted to get some suggestions to how big of a gap for a 19" fat tire setup. At the moment, it's between 1 and 2 fingers in the front. I haven't set the back yet, but i want the flat look. Any suggestions otherwise instead of what i'm doing, any help would be appreciated.

Albert

I always liked about 1 finger up front and basically none (no more no less) in the back. You may have to shave the fender tab but with the 19s fat, you'll still have good enough clearance for most street driving.

i have 3/4 in the front and zero in the back. with your offset and fat setup, rear would be fine, but front might rub a bit

Ditto, it will take you about a month or 2 to get your height "PERFECTLY" even. I have adjuusted my coils about 5-8 times since I got them, the last thing I had to do was add one thread on the drivers side rear and its pretty much dead even. its a pain, because the rear comes down a quarter inch once you drive off, so you have to keep adjusting. Make sure you find a 100% FLAT surface to guage the drop, if there is even a slight incline you will not be able to tell!

One thing I do is mark the perch with a marker to know when I went a full turn. Also if you have EDFC, remember to shut it off/on after you adjust the coils to let it adjust itself. It has to zero reference after its been fiddled with

should i not get an alignment till i figure it out after driving a bit, is it bad to drive with new tires and no alignment? I want to get an alignment after i get it right. I just put on my wheels tonight and i feel like the rear is off between the right and left side, i'll take pictures and post them here soon. Let me know what your opinions are, i highly value them.

I went to a chain that has the newest equipment and they do free alignment adjustments. Thats why I said it takes about a month or 2 to get it right, because when you change the camberr/caster/toe settings, it changes the height.

Once you have the car set where it looks pretty good, leave it for at least 3-5days to let it settle somewhat, then get an alignment. If need be, adjust again, ride around for 3-5days, then align again.

I am going in for my 3rd alignment sometime this week. Its a pain, but if you want that perfect stance, its all worth it.

Hopefully you dont have a long commute, if not your tires should be okay

yeah, I always go in the shop and get to know the guys working on my car, and I slide them something for thier pocket. It is amazing what a 10-15 dollar tip will get you. The alignment guy loves my car as well, so that helps! LOL

just put on your wheels and tires, drive around, adjust it, etc... and then get it aligned. getting it aligned a week later won't kill you...
