I have dealt with a badass machinist in North Phoenix in the past. He helped me with a couple projects and they turned out great. He's old school, but we got stuff right the first time. He helped me build a nice high compression LS/VTEC (Honda) setup back in the day when noboby was really doing it yet and it ran like a ****. He does mostly American V-8's but he'd be the first guy I went to for a build for any motor. It sounds like you're wanting to go turbo so I doubt he'd be much help past the block and heads but....
His name is Greg Gruelich and his # is (480) 948-3042
Just curious why a Lexus V8? If you're putting it in that custom built race car then I would go with something a bit more 'recent'. A LS7 from the Corvette should do nicely as is in stock form. First off, all the Lexus V8's will be used whereas the LSx motors can be bought new. Only reason to be using a Lexus V8 is for the ease of dropping it in a Lexus, but since you're building a custom car so you can pick any engine of your choice.
The test car has an LS7. very nice package but just hohum. was looking at judd v10, honda v8, but cant get them and too expensive. just looking for something different and a little more exotic. but good insight and thanks for the suggestion.
