I bought a 1995 SC 400 in July of 1994. The car has 130,000 or so miles on it. The first few months of ownership were a headache. The ECM module was replaced three times in 18 months. Symptom was car stumbling under intial accelertion, then idle surge. That was sorted out, and I've had over a decade of good service.

Now the tilt and telescope on the steering colum is not working, the radio antenna is stuck down, the trunk remote is inoperative as are the power door locks.

Can anyone advise a good repair facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro area to get these issues fixed?

Finally, I also would like to have a full repaint effected on the car in the stock black jade pearl color. Any input on a good place to have it painted?

 

steering coulumn is a gear that needs a spacer. search for it, the fix is on these forums... cost next to nothing to DIY


radio antenna = bad motor or bad gear strip. you can replace either one or get a stubby antenna to rid the problem.

check fuses for the last one

 

Just wanted to ask you how you fixed this problem? Was the car sputtering/jerking? Mine does this occasionally seemingly when I get into 3rd gear (I think it's 3rd) at about 40 MPH, the car starts to lightly sputter/jerk for a few seconds.
