What's so good about Texas?
I used to live in Houston for about 18 years. I have moved from Austin and I'm now in Dallas. Alot of people from Austin and especially Dallas talk bad about Houston. When people ask me where I used to live, I tell them I came from Houston. And out of nowhere, people tell me so many ugly things about Houston such as,
Houston is the armpit of Texas"
"Everything rust in Houston"
"Houston smells bad"
"I hate Houston. The only time I go to Houston is when I go to Galveston. I hate passing by that city."
Personally, I love Houston. There are more things to do in Houston than Dallas. There are alot of fun things and tourist spots and Galveston is only 45 minutes away. It's nowhere close to the beaches in California, but it's something. Keema is nice as well. Austin is by far the best city in Texas to live. (Believe me, I used to live there) Austin is known for their music. Dallas is full of superficial people that think they are better than you. That's probably why they think Dallas is better than Houston. Dallas is the breast implant capital. (according to quite few authors) Now you know one of the reasons why people here are superficial. There are alot of adult oriented businesses and that's about it. There is a large Asian community in Houston (downtown and Bellaire) whereas Austin and Dallas is pretty much nonexistant. Cost of Living in Houston is dirt cheap. I can get a nice apartment for $500 or a nice house for $140K. Dallas/Plano houses are in $240k for the same size. Houses of Highland Park of Dallas $750k to millions. The only that I like about Dallas is the job market. It's a great place for business. Interstate-75 part of Dallas is a tech-sector.
How is the night club scene? Austin tops it. (It's a true college town) Houston has the Richmond strip and downtown. Dallas the crime infested Deep Ellum.
Oops I forgot:... car scene: I know every Saturdays there is big car enthusiasts that gather at Target in Westheimer and Wilcrest. It's pretty big that it fills the entire Target parking lot.(that was 5 years ago.)
Anyways, Sugarland is a great area of Houston. You;ll fit right in. Good Luck!
