Wanting to know if we would be visiting the Dragon in May or Aug. this year?

 

Haven't given it much thought - any preferences? Need to look at the tailofthedragon site to see what weekends are relatively free of other big groups.

We'd talked also about finding a track event to do as a group if the police presence is still heavy.

 

May doesn't sound bad.. I was kinda hot in Aug. I just checked the site for may and every weekend has only one other group at this time. So its still light. I'll also ask Rob with the S2K that came with me last year, about other roads. He was up in Nov. and said the S2K crew found alot of other more impressive roads that had hardly any traffic on them.

 

I've been wondering as well.

Given the fact that May is around the corner, the sparse activity on this thread and the fact that the Lexus Dragon site hasn't been updated since last year, I'd say May is a no go, right?

We did speak about moving it somewhere else, as Dave stated, the police keeps things safe, not fun.

 

I'm planning on going up to the dragon sometime towards the end of May with a few friends. So a little weekend trip shouldn't be that bad.

 

I would love to go...but need to do brakes on my GS!

ferrari guys were there last weekend, wish i couldve seen that. id love to make a trip up there this year, ive never been..

Gas prices be damned, I'm wanting to go even if the Dragon itself is being patrolled. Cherohala Skyway alone is worth the trip.

 

Its a tradition for a lot of us. Something will happen. Dave usually plans it so maybe its time for some others to step up and take the lead here.

We usually stay in the Microtel but it would be GREAT if we could also get a big cabin somewhere so we can hang out, talk, drink and I sure don't mind grilling (for those interested).

I'll look at things this weekend and throw some dates out there.

 

Absolutely no issues with me if someone else wants to step up and plan. My summer is looking pretty busy with 'real work', planned travel and my wife's track event schedule.

With recent accident issues at auto meets, I do recommend whomever plans has an eye on meet safety planning & discussion.

 

Well, I've been keeping it quite for some time now. But a few friends and I are heading up to the dragon on the weekend of June 27-29 for those that are interested in attending. We'll be staying in the microtel as its convenient for us. So for those that are interested in coming along, you're free to come. But like dave mentioned aboved, safety is a big issue therefore I only want responsible people to come only....
