Default Ignore posts/user?

Hi,

Is it possible to ignore the posts of a specific user so that they do not show up in my view?

Thanks,
Michael

Reviving this old thread... I added a user to my ignore list (for the first time). While his post content doesn't show, just the fact that made a post, I still see his post when it's quoted. Am I missing domething as to how to suppress that, too? If not, please consider improving the ignore user function so that it's much more useful. Thanks!

Sorry no way to do that. It's a free text field and scanning and parsing every character isn't practical and would bring the forum to a halt performance wise.

Just use that mouse scroll feature and move past them.

The performance penalty might stem from the forum software used and/or the platform it runs on. For example, fatwallet.com has an ignore user function that works for both posts and quotes of the post, and the site runs fast. Here's a screen shot of an ignored user, Mickie3:

Yep. In vBulletin the quote is able to be edited, etc. and isn't a preserved field. There may be some add on out there I'll ask if the tech guys can look into, but wouldn't suggest it get added if it slows things down.

That fatwallet piece is pretty slick, but doesn't look like that is vb.
