Here is a great idea!!!!

Is there anyway to direct brand new members to the search page after they create their screenname?

Maybe a little note saying that there is a wealth of info by using the search?

Or a pm or email welcoming them to CL and a reminder about searches?

Just a thought as I know some of us are getting tired of the "new-old" posts.

And yes, I was guilty but I say nip it in the bud.

Another thing that would (could) help is to make the search box more prominent - bring more attention to it - would probably encourage more use of it.

 

This is a touchy subject. I remembered I came on to this forum and asked the dumbest question possible, "How do I make my LS4 go faster?"

I don't want to hamper on the new members by saying "do a search."

However, I understand, if one opts not to respond to the thread, the member will feel like he/she isn't getting any help from fellow CL members.

I gotta see how to gracefully incorporate it into the registration part.

But like what garnet92 said, CL needs to emphasize the search function better.
