Default Flash 10 kills Chrome

This didn't always happen, but it started more recently. I'm using Chrome 3.0.195.38. I'll probably switch my Chrome version if I can, but as of now, it kills my flash.

It doesn't always happen... it's like, 50/50 irrespective of which page I'm on. May be ad-related? Not really sure.

I do believe its ad related. I don't know Chrome but if you can implement an ad-blocker like you can on firefox might be a good way to potentially avoid the problem.

The use of Adobe Flash scripts in some ads, maybe just one particular ad, is occastionally running so long that it locks up IE 8 on my rather industrial strength (WinXP Pro, mega memory) PC. I have to completely close down IE which means I often have to close tabs on other websites -- very inconvenient.

I suspect you have at least one "offending" advertiser with a recently new or revised ad using Flash in an inappropriate way. This problem started within the past week or so.

I don't have problems like this on any other website ...

Working from my windblows box in the office and it has shut Safari for windblows down all three times I have tried to surf CL to the point I have to force off the computer and reboot from the off ( completely off not just logged off). It says "A script in this movie has caused flash ten to become unstable, continued usage may slow the web page down". (to that effect). It is definitely an ad, but once it hits it locks my computer solid. The only browser it seems to not effect is safari for mac. (Maybe a firefox for mac guy can weigh in as to if it hurts that browser).

It's universal, although IE seems to be impacted less than others.

I'm also reading about this same issue on other (non-IB) auto forums so its a more widespread problem than just on CL, likely served up by google adsense targeted at auto communities.

Universal on windows anyway. I haven't experienced this until I came upstairs but as you can see some have.

edit: here's the old flash player versions http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html

Getting the same in Chrome, Firefox and Safari on Mac. I'd say every 5-10 clicks crashes the browser, rending the site unusable.

Thanks, we have been having the same problem here. We have turned off a number of our ad partners, and have been unsuccessful in diagnosing who it is coming from.
It is that Chevy ad (we think) that is the cause of it, but we are trying to find who it is coming through.

Really sorry for the delay in fixing it, we have had trouble finding the culprit.

I just got it again, and had to quit Safari, it happened during the Chevy ad.

Ok, we think we have nixed it.
If anyone comes across it, please let me know.

Thanks again, and our apologies for the inconvenience

Yeah but notice it says flash 9, not ten. That was after the downgrade.

Anywho I'll be on the work comp tomorrow and check out the site.

No, it doesn't seem to be fixed.

I keep getting those Adobe Flash Player Script 9 boxes on the average of twice a day or so......ONLY on CL, no other site. When I do, it locks everything up solid. On my own PC, I have to get completely off the Internet and log on again. On other computers, it allows me to abort the script without getting completely out....but it's still a problem.
