Default Post Count problems?

Since we're well beyond the upgrade now, I'm not asking this in the "Upgrade Problems" threads, but just for the record, did something happen lately with the software or something else to affect members' post counts? A couple of days ago I had over 17,000...I now have 16,685 as I write this.

I'm just wondering out of curiosity.....I'm not trying to build up huge totals, nor am I trying to catch up with anyone else (I love CL for the chats, not the numbers), and I have so many posts now that a few hundred probably doesn't make much difference, but if this is happening to the new CL members with low numbers, that is another story.

From time to time our tech guys (or I) run scripts that recount every post made and update post counts. The online system is sometimes 'tricked' into adding a new post count when you didn't actually make a post, so the recount is simply resetting them to be more accurate. The number of posts for each member nearly always goes down.

No script was run. It was a glitch relating only to that user.
I can run a script that will update post counts, but allot of post counts will be lowered because all posts that were deleted or pruned will not count towards the total number of post for a user.

Actually, two users are in the billions category right now.

Specific posts from a thread removed. We usually only do this when the specific thread has a lot of valuable information but a post violates our forum rules (personal attack, solicitation, etc). Those removed (pruned) posts would not count towards the member's total number of posts.
