Default Report any upgrade problems here please (5/24 webserver and vb upgrade)

Members,

Please report any issues you encounter with our recent technical upgrade to a new, faster webserver and the latest version of the forum software CL runs on (vBulletin).

We are aware of a couple of issues already:

1) Posts out of sequence due to date / time. We reset (corrected) the date / time on the new webserver and the old one was off. Posts will seem to be out of sequence in some cases with the newer post coming before the older one. This also impacts thread 'read' icon. This impacts the following forum features:

- reply to posts will be before the post you are replying to if it is from just before we took CL down
- new posts may appear in the forum post lists down the page a bit (older posts look like they're newer
- forum search / new posts search may return older posts in the results list before the newer ones

I believe this issue will last until a little after midnight, then resolve itself. New posts will be in the correct order after that time.

2) Intellitext is back on. I'm not certain if we are going to leave it on or turn it off permanetly as it was impacting forum performance previously. These are the little green underlines for keyword advertising. If they bother you this thread shows you how to turn it off manually https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=212533 Update - this has been turned back off.

3) Some members reporting issues with logging in "Wrong username or password. You have used up your failed logn quota! Please wait 15 minutes before trying again" Update - That issue (a vBulletin IP recognition problem) has been fixed by pulling an apache server that was being used to serve images. This will slow the forums down a little until we figure out how to make them work together but will solve the login password problem.

If you see any issues please post them here. Also any observations on forum speed and perfomance are welcomed. We'll probably have some more tweaks for speed but its much faster for me (especially searches) this morning.

Searches are faster than before (i.e., the search was broken before...) but it's still very slow compared with months past. I noticed that general forum navigation speed has improved a bit, too.

Dave,
It is a little faster than before, but I think it would be the same when a lot of people are browsing/log in CL.

Have you tried to turn off the signature feature?
That would help a lot to improve the speed.

Do you think that some of the slowness is caused by too many graphics, and animated GIF's on each page?

I'm using Firefox version 1.5.0.9

The home page for CL no longer shows the link text at top of page. "HOME...ABOUT US....INDUSTRY NEWS...COMMUNITY...SPONSORS" are missing but knowing there old position I can place the cursur and still see a faint pull down.

Can you try clearing your cache / cookies and logging back in?

We use less than many forums and have restrictions on our signature banners in size (50kb). The images (avatars, signatures, smileys and ads) are all pretty small potatoes as far as impact on bandwidth (especially once they're initally loaded) as long as they're from a reasonably fast source.

You can do that individually if you think it will help... I don't notice an appreciable difference with them on or off.

Please see #1 at the beginning of this post. We had that happen for a few hours until the clock caught up.

The server 71.xxx.101.xxx at Linksys BEFW11S4 V2/V3 requires a username and password.

Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).

What's happening? It keeps asking for my password. is this legit? Other websites don't have this... It just started today, Friday
