I thought AutoCoutureSC was defending your position SC400DAVE?

Momma saids " If You Don't Have anything Nice To Say, Don't Say It At All".
Let's Brand these Boys NewB's for Life, so they won't get flamed for asking repeated ?'s!

But seriously, everyone should take a step back & think about the 1st time we came upon this site. I don't know about you but I was welcomed with an almost open arm, and that's why I'm still here today. I believe there are really articulate peeps on this forum & a solution is only one click away. Don't mind the cliche'. I've met some really cool peeps here an also acquired a vast amount of info.

That's cool Mike. I would also challenge you and the other senior members to come up with one or two constructive or imaginative threads to start yourself! (Not to pick on you... just an example) The last thread you started in the SC forum was in early June. I have the same thing happen to me and every now and then realize I need to initiate some of the conversation that makes our forums stay interesting.

I would agree with Mike on this topic in many aspects. For mentioned reasons I spend less time in the SC forums because of all the reposts and repeated questions.

Dave is right as well. Some of us have been avoiding posting threads in the SC section because of this and may be contruibuting in some respects to its "downfall"...

IT would be nice to see the SC section revived. I miss breaking my neck at work just to get on CL and participate in "mature" discussions... I think I spend more time in the CLubhouse and Classifieds now....lol

To Mike for having the ***** to post this thread. For any it offends "sorry" but sometimes "venting" is a good way to teach and be taught...

To Dave the "MOD" for allowing this thread to stay open and keeping everyone "civilized"... These guys work hard for this Club and deserve much respect.

i didnt even know how to use the search button when i first joined this forum. i was reading posts in the forum long b4 i joined and i couldnt figure out how to search the threads, in fact i finally joined b/c i thought you had to be a member to search. but since i joined ive been helped out alot and i try to help others also. if i read a post and i dont know the answer i go to another thread and try to help out someone else. i generally browse through all the forums when i log in and try to find people that i can help and look for info. that i can use. i must say that it annoys me a little when a person asks a question no matter how trivial someone else thinks it is, and a member answers with a smart*** resonse about why dont you use the search button. this is a public forum isnt it?i know that the mods do this, but they do it in a respectful way. not like some other members. we have alot of members that act like theyre mods.,but guess what, your not. if you dont like what someone has to say dont listen or in this case dont read. theres no reason to start a thread that is basically all about YOU. there are worse things going on in all of our lives i bet. dont want to start a fight just adding my opinion

Dude I cannot believe you don't (or didn't) know how to search. Yahoo, google? I am sure you've used those and it doesn't take an idiot to teach navigate him/herself around search functions. For example, you want to find out how to clean your foggy headlights. Just put in the advanced search "clean haedlights" and the section you want it to search it in and boom; Your search is done. Now was that so hard?

Calvin, IMO you didn't really grasp what sha4000 had to say and in fact demonstrated exactly what his point was about.... people borderline attacking others and name calling because they don't do search the first time. If you just left it with the 'for example' part it would be great... but please leave out the "idiot" commentary in future posts here on ClubLexus.

thanks dave my point exactly. Calvin, what i was saying is that i couldnt find the search button, which was my faqult i must admit ,but this is only the SECOND forum i have EVER been a member of and LOC was the first. other than that my computer experience only goes back one year. im quite sure b4 everyone became computer literate many of you didnt even know how to search the web properly to find what you were lookng for, which was my exact predicament. but since ive been a member of these 2 great lexus forums and learning from all those who dont mind teaching i feel like a genius. anyway in the LOC forum all you had to do was scroll down to the bottom of the page inany sub-forum and there was the search button and thats what i thought i had to do in this forum due to the limited knowledge i had. like i said it was more than likely an oversight on my part , but i still shouldnt be jumped all over just b/c i dont know how to do something and someone else does. i personally always use the search function and if i cant find what i need i will post a question( i read through 26 pages of anwers in one search and out of all that only about 5 posts were usefull) but its all a learning process. thats why we have mods. who by the way do there jobs just fine without putting anyone down and when someone needs to be checked they check them.

50 post or whatever number idea is a terrible one. I've seen this happen at a few forums. It just makes new members post bunch of crap or one worded answers to get their thread count up.

Default 50 posts

But think about it this way , this would also deter some scumbag who came on here selling fake stuff.

im not saying some one who has 2,000 posts couldnt do the same thing but ,there is less of a chance
