Ml amp replacement
Just had the crappy ml amp go out on me. Comes on for a few seconds then cuts out. Thought it was a blown speaker . Replaced all the mids with 8ohm speakers and aml still cuts out.I know the amp has to stay put for things to work. Any way to use an aftermarket 5channel amp to power the system? seems like a better use of $ than paying 350 to repair the factory amp

I've looked for ways to swap out to an aftermarket amp, but with the ML deck and amp being 100% integrated, there's no way I've found.
One guy tapped into the signal wires off the deck, but the volumn control is actually in the amp, so they lost control of volumn.

Not sure if you read my post but I'm referring to the mark levinson amp in my 2004 ls . The same one that many others have had issues with. Not looking for sympathy just wondering if anyone had successfully bypassed the amp that is clearly not as well built as the rest of the vehicle.
thanks though

Tough to think 15yrs later we are still paying $400+ to repair/ replace these underbuilt amps. Guess I should stop complaining and ante up.😞
