Default Wheel fitment guide, any info is appreciated!

I can't seem to find any threads that gives clear information on wheel setups for the 3rd gen is.
My current setup is staggered as so :
19 x 8.5 offset 35 front - tires 225/35/19
19 x 10 offset 40 rear - tires 265/30/19
This setup will work with awd vehicles. This is an aggressive fitment but fairly standard.

My problem is i live in nyc; I've popped my tires multiple times going over really bad potholes due to having a thin sidewall. The ride is alot stiffer compared to being on stock wheel and tires.

What is the largest tire setup i can run on my current 19 inch wheels, without rubbing? ( staggered setup for awd )

Info on wide and meaty 18 inch wheels and tire setup would be appreciated too.

taller tires on the 19s? if you step up on the sidewall number, the radius of the tire would be too big for your wheel well

just get 18s in around the same specs to battle the NY roads
