Upgrade Navigation Disk
I have a 2001 Lexus LS430 with what says is a Version 1 disk. Does anyone know what the latest disk I can upgrade to might be. Looked at some online that says "works if you are NOT using Ver.1"... any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Thanks for sharing that. Just wondering what disk would work. I have the navigation on the phone but would like to get the latest disk that would work in the unit.

The thought hadn't occurred to me that they were duplicated and not original Toyota. When I got my $12 dvd in 2016, it looked similar to the one that came out, and worked fine. Meaning even the label on it looked exactly the same in quality as the one that came out. I went by the nearly perfect rating on eBay. I have never once entered a destination in my factory NAV, but I sometimes use it as a map oriented north, to supplement my phone (can I cut through with this street, where am I exactly along the highway, etc.)
Who knows what the source is. Example, where are all these Samsung Galaxy S8 OE chargers and cables coming from, for $5-$6, a fraction of the price when you walk into a Verizon store or Best Buy? They're not knock offs....the world operates like that. An eBay power seller's reputation is worth more than $12.....so I would not be afraid of ordering online...

Sorry to hear, you should contact the seller.....except for one time long ago (I got a broken golf club and the seller said he would take care of, didn't do anything but waited so I couldn't give negative feedback), all of the sellers seemed to take any concerns seriously. On the Lexus, one guy said he'd credit me and he did, and didn't want the part back....(the part was sold as new but I think it was returned by someone else)

I have. I let him know it didn’t work and simply asked if he would replace it or send me a refund. Hope we can get “something” that works as now the system has been “upgraded” and can’t go back to the original disk. Ah, the joys of outdated technology!

The gen 3 systems used in the 2001-2003 LS can be "upgraded" to gen 4 with a computer out of a 2004-2005 Prius and you'll be able to use gen 4 discs from any source.
System will still be ancient compared to the latest 8th-9th gen Toyota/Denso systems and your phone. But how else will you use that screen in your dash?
