I was disappointed in the 303 spray on the
dash. It seems to leave white stuff after gently wiping with it. I don’t want to wipe too hard and scratch it. I switched to Meguiars Interior Detailer — awesome stuff. It makes the dash look dark and textured. 10x better than 303.

So now I have a bottle of 303. Was wondering if anyone uses it on the exterior plastic trim around the wheel wells or bottom skirt? If not, what’s everyone using?
Your image of your blue cloth shows what looks like a residue of white coloured wax or rubbing compound already embedded in the cloth. Did you start with a clean cloth, not ever used for anything else? I've used 303 a couple of times to reduce the signs of scratches from other microfibre cloths and it worked well. I made sure when applying to dash I used a very gentle soft cloth, a low nap cotton cloth, not microfibre. I created my scratched dash by using a microfibre cloth to remove what looked like a residue from a soft drink possibly, only to scratch the surface while rubbing off the residue.

Definitely a clean edge free micro fiber cloth. The white residue is from spraying 303 on it. I think a slightly direct stream creates a white pileup. But it doesn’t take much.
I heard of all the self scratch horror stories so I’m extremely gentle and haven’t had any problems until I tried 303 (Heard good things). But later when returned after applying some, I found the white flakes. I didn’t make the connection to 303 until I broke it out again, and noticed this white pileup after spraying the cloth. Switched back to Meiguers with no problems.
Do you have a link to your favorite cloth? Better than no edge microfiber?

Something is not right. 303 Protectant is the best treatment for vinyl/leather. Was the dash hot. Was the sun shinning on it when you
applied it? 303 is breathable...vinyl will not crack in time.

No, the bottle and cloth taken from a cool garage. I spray the cloth, then apply to the dash. Then the white flakes emerge or get transferred to the dash.
In that case either your rag is worn out and/or contaminated with something or I would avoid them in the future. Of course I am only going by your photo does the rag feel ultra soft? Doesn't look it.
