Default TX550h+ production halt rumors

I have been seeing statements on social media forums that dealers are telling people that Lexus is halting/delaying production of the TX550h+ for 12-14 months. Does anyone know if this is true?

I’ve heard they are increasing PHEV production not decreasing it.

I would take anything a dealer tells you with a grain of salt.

Exactly, saying something is scarce is an age-old sales technique.

And in my experience shopping dealers don't want you to want the 550h+ because they can't get them, they want to sell you what they can sell you now.

Eeeeeeeeeeeexxxxxxxxactly.

Dealers have ZERO incentive to sell you a car they haven't already purchased. Aka what's sitting on the lot.

Imagine you're a dealership. Every car you have on the lot is one you're paying interest on to Lexus. You want to move those as fast as possible.

Selling a car that will be delivered in 2-6 months vs one they already have on the lot costs them more money than it's worth.

I'm still in between the 500h and the 550h+ just because the 550s are so hard to find. The 500hs in Luxury trim are also very hard to find but Premium 500hs are pretty easy. If the Premium 500h had a sunroof of any kind that would be an easy choice.

I don't think that's being used as a scare tactic. It's the actual truth. TX 550h+ are built in very limited quantities and very high demand in states with ZEV and AFV mandates. The next hard to get model is TX 500h F SPORT Luxury.

But why would they then stop making them? Thats what makes no sense.

It is odd this rumor popped up at several dealerships last week. I have never seen buyers report that as an excuse before. It’s always been some variant of the wait being 3-12 months long. so we’ll have to wait and see.

This is true as well, sell what you have.

Even brokers, I have asked for numbers on the 500h and the 550h+ and mysteriously they only send numbers on the 500h and basically just ignore anything I ask about the 550h+ lol

So whats their price for these magical TXs? How big is the adm?

I bet if you agree to their adm, magically the factory will produce one just for you.

Most Lexus dealers will sell them at MSRP without an ADM.

My local dealer said in Nov 2025, a buyer waited 90 months for the arrival of the TX550h (it was a special order). I have yet to see one at the dealer.

With the TZ coming out, they will likely discontinue it.
