Just in case anyone would like to join ClubLexus for the reveal. Just in from the Lexus PR department --

Save the Date: Live Stream of All-New Sports Models World Premiere on December 5

TOKYO (Dec. 2, 2025) – Toyota Motor Corporation will live stream the All-new Sports Models World Premiere from 11:00 a.m. on December 5, JST (9:00 p.m. on December 4, EST). The world premiere will be live-streamed (with English interpretation) via the link below. After the presentation, the script, official photos, and video will be posted on this webpage.

In addition, the live stream can be watched on the official Toyota Motor Corporation YouTube channel. A reminder can be set by logging in to your YouTube account and accessing the YouTube
So, here in the states, that's 9 PM Eastern, 6 PM Pacific on Thursday, December 4.

But here's the best part --

You can see on the left how the two taillights are different. That confirms they're announcing not just the GR GT, but also the LEXUS variant. So finally, at long last, we're getting some sort of LFA successor that will serve as the Lexus brand's global racecar and flagship coupe.

Very exciting for Lexus / Toyota 👍
Just hoping it’s not a hybrid.

I think they've all but confirmed that they will feature some sort of variant of this new TT-V8+Hybrid. That said, the hybrid motors should be more functionally to augment performance rather than strictly for MPGs, but maybe a 2-for-1 type of situation. I don't personally mind a hybrid at all if it's paired with an actual transmission rather than CVT/eCVT.

My issues with hybrid are it will be more expensive, more complex, much heavier and likely AWD - all of which go against what I’m looking for in a sports car.

I think Corvette has perfect solution - offer ICE and hybrid variants. But if it’s only one model then ICE is the preferred option.

I think for GT3 homologation requirements, it has to be ICE only.

To be honest the Lexus LC should have been the MKV Supra instead of the BMW rebadge.
Adjusting for inflation, the MK4 Supra would cost today what the LC costs. The LC is leagues above better.

Heck Toyota can even take what they've done with the Lexus LC and really trim it down, make it cheaper but keep the V8 and go against the Mustang and Camaro.

The platform the LC uses is too expensive by far to go against those two unless Lexus takes severe losses or sells 3x the number of mustangs. It would still fail though as it's slower with zero aftermarket, you aren't getting week two 1000hp LCs like is the standard with domestics

LC should had a modern turbo engine …and a parcel shelf instead of two back seats….and a V8 hybrid

My kids and insurance premiums love the back seats of my LC. It could do with some boost though, lol.

Oh, man, I'm getting excited for tonight.

Can't wait to hear how Akio positions the GR GT versus whatever the Lexus is going to be called

I doubt we'll learn about pricing yet, but I'm hoping this is an in-depth presentation and not just a teaser for something later.

They will be using the Toyota Hybrid System Racing (THS-R) and sequential semi-automatic.

The race engine doesn't have turbos and if they use a sequential I can already hear the reviewers slamming it for falling short of the PDK

I wonder if the layout will be similar to this? Front or front-mid engine plus a rear transaxle with 3 electric motors.

A cap system like that would be very cool, that's an acceptable way to add regen based KERS action IMO. Part of me still finds anything like that distasteful though because it's not usable at all times and situations, straight up more power always is.

I'm really excited to see what they release.

It's not something I'll buy, but hoping the new car does well in racing (IMSA / WEC / ect). Wouldn't it be amazing if the new car won the next 24 Hours of Daytona?

It was quite enjoyable seeing the RC F win races. Hoping the new car can do even better.
