5 Reasons to get Mom a Lexus for Mother's Day

I've never purchased a car for my parents, is this something y'all typically do?

 

i purchased a car for my parents. i bought them a new rx last year.

 

Just one for the both of them? Cheapskate!

 

i know, right?

 

haha I "almost" gave my dad my 2.x y.o. Nissan Maxima because the stock market was so roaring, but then it pulled back 2002/03 before I did....that was the closest I came. What's pretty funny, is my desire to buy a BMW followed the market. I was trying for a 2001 328Ci, but ended up with a 2007 335i coupe.

 

Number 6 (And this would apply with any new vehicle, not just a Lexus):

NO.

Just like hardly anyone buys a Lexus for a Christmas present for someone else but I guess it makes a nice eye rolling commercial around the Holidays.

 

I wouldn't say it's "common" but I know many people who have bought cars for their parents.

I would buy my mom anything she needed and wasn't able to get for herself.

 

i bouth my mum a es300h for mothersday she can afford anything but chose to drive a yarris
so i took that off her and gave her a es300h instead

 

I dunno, not sure if the dollar amount is a measure of love or what. I bought my parents a Dell computer (among other things I mean it was about $3000 at the time back when there were CRT's and this was 21"), and they didn't really want it and gave it to my sis in-law. I was very irritated and told my mom that pc is better than what I have, and if you didn't want it, you could have offered it back to me. She said no, you gave it to me, and it's up to me what to do with it. Honestly? That was the last time I sent them anything like that. I guess I applied the gifting of pets rule. While it's a nice gesture, it doesn't do anybody any good if the recipient does not want it....I kind of see this in reverse. When a kid goes to a prep school and is given a BMW M3 or Porsche Boxster GTS, I always wonder, is this for the kids' good, or is this more of the parents feeling good and showing their peers they have the ability to do so...(rhetorical)

 

I would've bought a new Lexus for Mother's Day. Before I jump on the gun, I asked my mother what she thinks of the new Lexus RX. She said she didn't like the new grille because it's too damn ugly.

Then I asked her what happens if I bought her a new Lexus RX. She said she wouldn't drive around with that thing, even if I paid her to.

Until then, I am not buying a new Lexus until they get rid of the Alien vs. Predator grille.

I got a new Lexus for my mum. To be fair I thought it was a fair trade - I love the car and I've heard she's very happy in her new home.
