Default Which brand fuel pump? 94 SC300

Just bought a 94 SC300 that has been sitting for 10 yrs.........79k miles.
I plan to replace the fuel pump 1st thing. As its probably toast. And the gas gauge isn't working.
Assume its the float that's stuck....
Can anyone fill me in on which one to buy?
OEM? Aftermarket brand purchased at? Or are brands about the same?
And any tips if there are any while I am in the tank? Saw a vid where it can be replaced from the back seat.
Thanks in advance!

^^ This! The stock Denso fuel pump can be had on the aftermarket. The new OEM Denso pump kit with a new fuel strainer is P/N #950-0109. About $130 vs the dealer part and it's the same thing.

For the fuel gauge, try to determine whether your tank sender is working first. If that does not solve the issue then your fuel gauge may have some problem. When I first got my car the tank sender was not the issue. I had to remove my stock fuel gauge from the cluster and replace it (although I do believe that gauge can be reconditioned by Tanin). Tank sender should be what you try first. Order that factory part and the gasket that goes with it onto the tank. It is easily accessed from behind the trunk liner. Make sure you do not have a full tank when you change it out.

I made a very small thread asking about the tank sender replacement some time ago: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...-searched.html

Thanks! Just what I needed. I just sprayed some starting fluid in the th body and it fired right up.
So, I am on the right track. Super happy........................
Yesterday I installed a new battery. The fuel gauge went 100% full, then dropped to empty.
So, I thought it may have zero gas in the tank. Put 3 gallons in and tried to start it. Nothing.
So I will drain the tank & replace the fuel pump.

Whats the easiest way to check the fuel pump on this car?

Best way to drain this tank? Pump it out from the filler? Or drain from the bottom?

(Even the tow truck driver said it probably needs a fuel pump as it has sat so long) But I should probably check it anyway...
I watched a video where a guy installed the pump from behind the back seat?
You swapped yours from the trunk side per the thread you attached? Or is that the sending unit location? I just got the car and have not checked it out. Thanks again!
Here is the less than stellar vid I watched on the fuel pump replacement.

Like I said in your other thread, I guarantee that the assembly and wires are completely rusted. Expect to replace the fuel pump assembly and tank.

Not sure if I mentioned it. But tried something new (To me) , Used a small hose and a large hose.
Put a rag around both at the fill opening and added compressed air in the small hose.
Worked great. LOL LOL Just passing it on.
