But yea I hear ya. if IS-F is only a couple tenths faster, then what are you really paying the extra $10+K for?

 

You say a couple tenths like it's a bad thing. On average an IS350 in optimal conditions will run a mid 13 and sometime even dip into a low 13. An ISF on average from what ive seen in optimal conditions will run a high 12 every time. So yeah, it's just a few tenths like you say BUT a few tenths in the world of drag racing is a pretty big difference. Also let's not forget about trap speeds either..

On average an IS350 will trap about 102-104 some have even hit 105+ but once again we're just looking at averages here. An ISF on average will trap anywhere from 109-112. That's a pretty substantial difference right there. So when you ask where the $10k+ difference goes on the ISF it's all going into that amazing V8, the even more amazing 8 speed automatic that actually shifts in manual mode, a much better suspension setup, better steering feel, brembo brakes, etc..

I'm not trying to shame the IS350 because I think for the money I spent I got one hell of a car. But to say the ISF isn't worth the difference in price is ridiculous. Just my opinion though..

 

Yea seriously, the difference is nothing... NOT WORTH IT!!!! I mean look at the 1/4 mile times and trap up there!

I don't drive my car very often, but when I finally do, I never had an IS-350 challenge me. They usually find me driving my Toyota Highlander LOL................now I'm actually looking forward to dueling with one.

ISF are rare and special with V8. If I could do it again ISF for sure.

 

Perhaps the IS-F wasn't in tune. Old Coils and Spark Plugs, would drop it at prob 60 hp. I found a IS-F in Los Angeles for under 20k..tempting.

 

Agreed. They are a bit expensive though in comparison to a 350. The cheapest IS-F I could in my car search was a 2008 worth 22k and it had 115k miles on it. A 350 with that mileage would be ~11-12.5k (assuming clean title).

 

ISF is much better than 350 except no AWD

 

In regards to real-world 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, let's be happy that the 2IS350 continues to be the fastest non-F vehicle that Lexus has ever produced (at least until the 2018 LC500 is released).

Yes, happy .....Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, 0-60 and 1/4 mi. speed times with trade in values, and good looks...
At 61k for a brand new 2016 ISF compared to 46-48k for a new 2016 IS350 F-Sport all in all the best bang for your money is the IS350 IMO!
A used low mileage good condition IS350 compared to a used ISF is even a better deal.
