Default Son totaled SC300

Looks like I want be part of the SC group anymore. After having an SC400, GS300 and now a Factory 5spd SC300 Im probably going to get something different. My son hit a guard rail about 5 weeks ago on the passenger side and then last week had a car tbone him in the driver B pillar. The other guy was speeding and it was a blind curve so but they didnt charge him and unfortunately we only had liability on it. Murphys law I told my wife about 2 months ago i needed to up the coverage now that it was restored and then promptly forgot about doing so. Between fixing the passenger side damage and now the drivers side and then paint its to much money to justify keeping it. Thankfully no one was hurt other than his feelings. I tried explaining to him I would trade a 100 cars for his saftey but after we spent two years working on restoring see https://www.clublexus.com/forums/bui...ns-pics-2.html and we were just ready to get it ready for paint and body work hes taking it hard.

Plan on parting car out kinda sucks that I bought 90% of the parts from this website and been a member since 05 but cant part out because if im reading right I have to have over 300 post. But anyways im going to be listing it on some of the SC facebook pages and hopefully some of the clublexus members can keep the car going in there cars. To all of you who have patiently helped me with problems and ideas over the past 11 years I truly appreciate it!!!!

So sorry to see and hear about your misfortune. Investing in these cars is a financial and sometimes emotional commitment. Great that your son is safe (a major feature of these cars and their abilities to standup to crashes) and this is the most important factor.

Good luck on your future direction.

Two accidents in less then two months... That really sucks, but how does one simply hit a guard rail? Texting and driving? In all honesty a cheap beater SC might be a good choice. Let him put the work into it and get it running right. If he's going to keep getting into accidents they're built like tanks, so it's a pretty safe option.

Beat the dents out, strip everything out of it, have a cage installed, race seats/belts/fire suppression, and come Chump race with us. He will learn to drive better than any other way you or he could imagine. SC300's took first and second place at the Sebring race last weekend out of a field of over 100 cars. They are awesome race cars in addition to awesome street cars. I have one of both along with a parts car.

I wish the interior was the same as mine I would offer to buy it as is once you figure out what you are going to do. But, I know it's too early to think about all of that, I would be sick as I am sure you are.

I'm glad to see that you're son walked away from this without getting physically hurt that's #1!!!
I wouldt put any $ in that particular car any longer, just because it's more involved with the rocker pannel and a rear quarter, or if the ins co decides to total it, it will always be a rebuilt or salvage title, but that's another topic. But I'm sure you can get a great inexpensive rust free donor car and transfer some good parts over, if he wants to learn more about these vehicles, it'll give him some great time in wrenching experience!!
